The Read’s Kid Fury to Develop HBO Comedy Series Executive Produced by Lena Waithe
Lena Waithe and Kid Fury band together for an upcoming comedic-debut with HBO.
Podcaster turned comedian Kid Fury infamously known for his hit podcast The Read is working together with Chicago-based director Lena Waithe who will executive produce a new HBO comedy series.
The half-hour series is described as:
“a surreal dark comedy that follows Greg, a 20-something sarcastic gay black man navigating adulthood and responsibility in New York City while struggling to wrap his head around his undiagnosed clinical depression.”
This past Summer, Waithe created the hit-show The Chi which featured the likes of Jason Mitchell, Jacob Latimore and Common which can be viewed as apart of Showtime’s Original Series.
