From playing baseball in college, to making it to the final round of auditions with execs for American Idol and The Voice, to performing with Kandi Burruss on I Can See Your Voice, Cody Smith has had an interesting music journey thus far.
Unlike many musicians who begin pursuing their music career at a young age, Cody didn’t begin to seriously pursue music until he was in his 20’s- moving from New York to Orlando and performing at Disney’s Night of Stars Talent Competition. It was that opportunity that made him realize how talented he is, and from there he began auditioning for shows such as American Idol and The Voice, making it to the final round of auditions for both.
Those opportunities unfortunately didn’t work out for Cody, but he was able to land an opportunity to perform with Kandi Burruss on Fox’s I Can See Your Voice.
He hopes that this is the beginning of a successful music career for him. Take a listen to our conversation as we discuss his time on the show and his plans for releasing music later on this year.
