Brockhampton Are Disbanding But Will Continue to Make Music as Solo Artists

One of Brockhampton’s last visuals for ‘New Shoes’ takes place at a waterpark and playground directed by Matt Champion and Onda.

Brockhampton is disbanding and here’s one of the last music videos we’ll see from the group. The group member’s leader Kevin Abstract announced last year that the next two albums would be their last.

The band released a surprise album on Friday (Nov. 18) titled TM after releasing The Family a day earlier. Although the band is ending, frontman Kevin Abstract says that their no bad blood between the members and they want to create music separately.

“we all love each other and we wanna continue making the best music we can everybody just getting a lil older and got a lot to say outside of group projects,” said Abstract. “we’ve dedicated the last ten years of our lives to making music together this next project we’re just doing what’s rite”

In a 2021 GQ interview, Brockhampton member Romil Hemnani said this about the group’s disbandment:

“…at a certain point, people deserve to give their lives to themselves,” said Hemnani. “So it feels like it’s time to let everyone just spread their wings and do the things that they want to do. Being in a group, I love it so much, but there’s also compromise. And I think everyone kind of deserves the shot to do what they want—no compromises.”
