Ariana Grande breaks records with new single 7 Rings

Ariana Grande’s new hit 7 Rings scored 16.9 million streams in a week, knocking Mariah Carey’s All I Want For Christmas is You out of the top spot. It sold 126,000 copies, beating 2017’s Grenfell charity single- the previous record holder.

Ariana Grande borrowed the melody from the Sound of Music’s song Favorite Things, and has faced some backlash from both Soulja Boyand Princess Nokia– who claim that Ariana stole phrasing’s from their songs. Despite the controversy surrounding 7 Rings, it continues to prove well liked by fans.
