Chicago natives Vic Mensa, Tink and G.O.O.D. Music latest signee HXLT all posed in the CR Men’s Book along with Fetty Wap.
Kanye West hand-selected the models he felt best represented the style of the pieces in the Yeezy x adidas Originals: Season One collection who “embody the fearless spirit of his debut” Kanye told CR.
Tink expressed her thoughts on the opportunity and growing up in Chicago, “You grow up quick coming out of Chicago,” Tink tells CR Men’s Book. “You go to school and you see friends and over the summer they pass—just reckless violence. You become numb to it and it gives you a tough skin.”
Vic also talks about Chi-town, “It’s not Hollywood,” he said. “You don’t grow up seeing movie stars hopping out of limos. We draw from different influences. It’s cold and gray outside right now, which doesn’t make me want to write a song about palm trees and beautiful women. I feel more compelled to talk about what these bricks made me feel.”
