Kehlani is appreciating pay-to-see platform workers.
Kehlani is using her self-directed visual of “Can I” to highlight and honor sex workers in the quarantine-style music video. The clip also co-directed by Sebastian Sdaigui shares words by writer and activist Da’Shaun Harrison:
“Black people — as well as Indigenous people and other people of color — deserve to be able to perform sex work without any limitations or stigmas attached,” they write. “And this means that everyone must commit to learning from sex workers about sex work and sex workers’ needs.”Da’Shaun Harrison on Black sex workers.
