Jordan Brand Pledges $100 Million in Fight for Racial Equality

Once again, Jordan comes through in the clutch.

Michael Jordan and the Jordan Brand has pledged to donate $100 million over the next ten years specifically for organizations fight for racial equality/racial injustices. Jordan’s contribution is the largest donation made by a corporation, in response to the untimely murder of unarmed George Floyd. – “Dedicated to ensuring racial equality, social justice and greater access to education.” After 10 straight days of protesting and looting in some cities, Jordan released a statement: “I am deeply saddened, truly pained and plain angry,” Jordan wrote. I see and feel everyone’s pain, outrage and frustration. I stand with those who are calling out the ingrained racism and violence toward people of color in our country. We have had enough.”

We applaud Jordan for stepping in and contributing. He has been criticized in his past for not being “loud” enough on issues concerning blacks in America. Hopefully this is the beginning of something we see from Jordan until he’s unable to.
