What inspired the name IRIDIUM?

Science, Love, Passion, Hunger.

We’re all about being inspired by music, which sounds inspire some the clothing?

Michael Jackson, Sigur Rós, Blackmill, Garnett Silk and Bob Marley just to name a few. Music is my first love before fashion.

What’s important to the concept of the brand?

Keep everything science related. Improving every season, out doing ourself everytime around. But most important giving the people what they want, which is dope shit.

Being in Chicago, how does that affect designing and inspiration?

Umm… Well it’s more of a desire and hunger to put Chicago on the map of fashion. Fashion capitals of the world are Paris, NYC, L.A, Japan. It would be nice to put Chicago on the map. I honestly don’t get any inspiration from people in Chicago because I think 90% of Chicago people style fucking suck. I went to 1st fridays at the MCA the other night. The most fashionable person out there besides my wife and I was this old lady. It’s annoying. The last time I went to NYC I sat in a window of a coffee shop and people watched for hours. It bothers me tremendously that people are so afraid to stand out here in Chicago but just want to fit in. Fuck that shit. Now, Chicago itself the city, food, fun and etc inspires me all the time. I love this city. Its home.

What can we expect from upcoming collections?

A lot more runway pieces and ready-to-wear pieces. We’re dropping some pieces in the Fall that will definitely seperate us from the norm. Again, we’re working on standing out more than fitting in.

What brands/designer influence your vision being creating?

Ralph Lauren. I wanna make timeless pieces. Ralph Lauren is still selling pieces he has created in the 70s. That’s my inspiration. Obviously we are inspired by the whole ninja movement right now. Shout out to all my ninja warriors out there.

Who, type of person, is IRIDIUM Clothing made for?

People who wanna make a statement. Stand out in a crowd. Who enjoy life to the fullest. Creative minds.
